To finish on a sweet note, two desserts are available: Gelato Mantecato with Asian fantasies or a sesame and Mandarin éclair. Want to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2023 in a special way? Celebrate it during your ski holiday in our exceptional hotel.
This celebration, also known as the Spring Festival, is one of the most important festivals in Chinese culture. It marks the beginning of a new year according to the Chinese lunar calendar. This event is also marked by gastronomic celebrations, with traditional dishes such as sticky rice, chicken and noodles symbolising longevity and prosperity. Gifts are also exchanged, including red envelopes containing money, which are given to children and the elderly as a sign of good luck for the New Year. All in all, Chinese New Year is an occasion to celebrate with the family that involve sharing meals, traditional singing and dancing, colourful parades, prayers for prosperity and gifts. It is a unique opportunity to remember cultural roots and celebrate the renewal of a new year.
February highlights at Le Coucou Méribel
To continue the festivities of the season, in February, from January 30th to February 5th, a gourmet Candlemas week with pancake parties and activities in our kids club is organised at Le Coucou Méribel. Each day a different theme awaits you. Our Chef will make a secret pancake recipe that will delight young and old. You will be able to choose plain pancakes or decorate them with different toppings such as jam, sugar, syrups or even chocolate and caramelised flavours for the greediest.
Candlemas is a religious tradition that marks the end of the Epiphany period and the beginning of the Lenten period. It is celebrated by lighting candles to symbolise the light of Jesus in our lives. In France, Candlemas is associated with the tradition of eating pancakes to attract wealth and prosperity for the coming year.

Enjoy the last moments of winter at Le Coucou Méribel
From March 16th to March 18th, spring will be in the air with our Chef Adrien Brunet from the Crillon le Brave hotel. He will bring the sun of the South through a special menu dedicated to Provence. Adrien Brunet trained in some of the greatest restaurants such as the Amphitryon with Chef Yannick Delpech and then met Jean-Luc Rocha, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, with whom he cooked for five years at Cordeillan-Bages. Then, Adrien Brunet succeeded the starred Chef of the Saint James, in Paris, before joining the Crillon le Brave hotel in 2021. He likes to cook locally and enjoys revisiting regional specialities, with a Provençal twist, without ever altering the flavours.
For children, workshops on dried flowers and Marseille soaps will be held.
